Jewelry Goings On

(A piece by Brittany Foster, found on Artful Home.)

I found two cool blog posts about the MJSA Expo that happened in New York a week or two ago. Michelle Pajak-Reynolds wrote about her experience in her blog EMERGE. You can also follow her blog on facebook.

If you check out Rio Grande's blog post about MJSA they provide a link to get a few trial issues of MJSA magazine free!

Here you can see the winners from the 2011 CASE Awards, which honors JA members who create pieces with the highest levels of artistry, creativity, style and excellence in jewelry design. Sadly the images can't be enlarged or I would share one here on the blog.

The theme of the 2011 Diva Design Competition is Green Diva: Eco-Conscious Jewels for Today's Green Consumer. Entries must be submitted no later than April 25th.

Bead Fest Wire is happening April 7-10th in the King of Prussia PA, lots of fun classes and supplies to buy!

April 8th & 9th, Gold Substance, Significance & Symbol is happening in New York City. Looks like an amazing conference.

A second 500 Rings book is coming out, and the due date is passed. Oops, Sorry on that one. Here is a great blog post to help you the next time you enter a competition by the Jewelry Business Guru. I've been thinking about entering more books and decided that I need a break from the rejection letters. And I don't want to design jewelry real quick to try to get into a book. I want to create amazing pieces that take time, that I really learn something from as I make them. Just a few thoughts, Have a great Sunday!
